Is 4.0 safe for live usage?

I'm running an earlier dev build (the last one before the upload of 2.5.6 for 1.11.2, no longer visible on the list) because the last time I tried a new one, it introduced a lot of bugs (equipment not working, primarily). I can't find a way to check specific commits and which bugs got fixed, and there's no "plugin health" indicator so I just wanted to double check.
